Chapter Nine

Life ... that is all

Remember him? Yea, he came back.

So I put up some cheap fencing to keep the bastard out. Now Rafe has only $9 to his name.

But if these beauties are what I think they are .... money problems might be solved in the near future.

Hailey took to complaining about not having money for a crib....

... but not being able to afford the $10 for dog food pushed Rafe over the edge. He sold Hailey's car!

Then he happily poured food for the dogs and left without a word to his wife. He needed time to be alone.

Hailey took over the house renovations.

Since there were always dishes about, I decided a sink was in order.

OLD

NEW

Rafe s exploring the desolate beach area when he got distracted by something moving.

I tried to get him to catch it but butterfingers was hard at work ...

... not catching anything.

A quick bathroom break.

A quick potato find. (WTH?!)

Then he sat at the waters edge. A hard working man should not have to walk around half starved and filthy!

He tried fishing. But as with the rest of his life, no luck.

So he went somewhere that always made him happy.

To be with his son. He stayed and baby sat while Gracie went on a "date" with Rodney.

Meanwhile, back at home, Dakota aged up.

Hailey thought it rude of Dakota to age up right next to the bed.

I find him ... interesting. Not a fan of his mouth shape but it will give definitive genetics.

Rafe taught Julio to walk!! And the fact that he tries to immediately run away shows what his home life is like.

Rafe watched as Gracie came home and greeted their son.

But his reaction to her pushing for child support was not well received.

She claimed she was ready for Rafe to take Julio. Her life was going in a different direction, and she wanted her freedom back.

Rafe was not happy. Neither was Gracie. Rafe promised Julio he would retrieve him as soon as he was able. He told Gracie to piss off!

Rafe returned home to stony silence and proceeded to bathe and get ready for bed. But was soon interrupted.

Dakota was not.

He was going to take Hailey to the hospital but I decided I wanted to see a home birth. Rafe was just ready for the screaming to stop!

A girl: Maria - hydrophobic and absent minded. Rafe didn't even bother himself with her.

Hailey loved that baby and was about to let Rafe know what she thought of his chauvinism.
